Bespoke under-stairs storage

Cleverly designed under-stairs storage featuring made-to-measure panelled cupboards and spacious pull-out drawers. A practical and elegant solution that maximises available space while blending seamlessly with the staircase.

What we did

These photos were taken once the joinery was finished. The space under the staircase is closed with painted panels that follow the slope of the stairs, so from the hall it looks like panelling.

Behind the doors are deep pull-out drawers, each cut to the height that is left under the treads. Finger holes take the place of handles, so the fronts stay flat. Drawers like these reach the back of the space, which a plain cupboard under the stairs never does.

With the doors shut, the storage reads as panelling. The panels are painted white and follow the slope of the stairs, beside a white balustrade.
